Eisa Davis (TV's Smash, Passing Strange) will appear in the ensemble cast of Kirsten Greenidge’s new play Luck of the Irish. The LCT3 production will play Lincoln Center Theater’s Claire Tow Theater January 28 through March 10, with an official opening set for February 11.
In addition to Davis, the ten-person ensemble will feature Marsha Stephanie Blake (Joe Turner’s Come and Gone, Hurt Village), Amanda Quaid (Cock), Dashiell Eaves (The Lieutenant of Inishmore), Carra Patterson (Wit), Frank Harts (A Raisin in the Sun), Victor Williams (A Small Fire), Jenny O’Hara (Promises, Promises) and Robert Hogan (Blood and Gifts).
Directed by Rebecca Taichman, Luck of the Irish tackles racial and social issues in two different American eras. When an upwardly mobile African-American couple wants to buy a home in an all-white neighborhood in 1950s Boston, they pay a struggling Irish family to “ghost-buy” a house on their behalf. Fifty years later, the Irish family wants “their” house back.
Luck of the Irish will feature set design by Mimi Lien, costume design by Oana Botez, lighting design by Justin Townsend and sound design by Matt Tierney.
