Josh Gad is coming to a movie theater near you! Open Road Films has scored the distribution rights to the Steve Jobs-centric bio pic jOBS, which stars Ashton Kutcher as the late creative visionary and Gad as Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak. The film will close out the Sundance Film Festival on January 27, and will aim for an April 2013 wide release, reports Deadline.com.
Directed by Joshua Michael Stern and written by Matthew Whitely, jOBS charts the ascension of Apple entrepreneur Steve Jobs from a college dropout to a legendary innovator. Kutcher and Gad share the screen with Dermot Mulroney, Lukas Haas, J.K. Simmons and Matthew Modine.
jOBS isn’t the only high-profile project that Gad has coming down the pipeline. His NBC sitcom 1600 Penn will premiere on January 10, his Gwyneth Paltrow-starring comedy Thanks for Sharing is expected to be released in 2013, and he recently signed on to pen Triplets, the sequel to the 1988 comedy Twins.
