Brian Stokes Mitchell, Stephen Schwartz, Linda Eder and more members of the Broadway community will come together for a benefit concert for the recent Sandy Hook Elementary School tragedy in Newtown, CT. From Broadway with Love: A Benefit Concert for Sandy Hook will be held on January 28 at the Palace Theater in Waterbury, CT.
In addition to Stokes (Kiss Me Kate), Stephen Schwartz (Wicked) and Eder (Jekyll & Hyde), the event will feature Broadway performers and composers, such as Micky Dolenz (Aida), Nikki Blonsky (the Hairspray movie), Seth Rudetsky (The Ritz), Marc Shaiman (TV's Smash), Tony winner Michael Cerveris (Evita), Tony winner Christine Ebersole (Grey Gardens) and more. The show will also feature select students from various Newtown choirs and dance groups.
From Broadway with Love will provide free tickets to the impacted families, first responders and the Sandy Hook Elementary community. All proceeds and donations from the event will go to United Way of Western Connecticut’s Sandy Hook School Support Fund.
