Josh Gad’s new political sitcom 1600 Penn is heading right where it belongs: the White House! Deadline reports that President Obama will invite cast and crew members from NBC’s upcoming presidential comedy to a special screening at the White House on January 9 (the show officially premieres in its regular timeslot on January 10).
Obama will welcome his former speechwriter Jon Lovett, who co-created the show with the former Book of Mormon star Gad. Set in the White House, 1600 Penn follows the fictional Gilchrist family, a dysfunctional clan that just happens to live in the most famous house in the country. The series stars Bill Pullman as the President of the United States, Jenna Elfman as the First Lady, Gad as their unhinged son Skip and Martha MacIsaac as eldest daughter Becca, as well as Amara Miller, Benjamin Stockham and Andre Holland.
The inaugural season of 1600 Penn will include guest stars Stacy Keach, Missi Pyle, Rory O’Malley, Savannah Guthrie and Chuck Todd.
