Sharr White's The Other Place, starring Laurie Metcalf, opens January 10 at Broadway's Samuel J. Friedman Theatre. Directed by Tony winner Joe Mantello, the Manhattan Theatre Club production also stars Daniel Stern, Zoe Perry and John Schiappa.
In The Other Place, Emmy winner and Tony nominee Metcalf stars as Juliana Smithton, a neurologist whose research leads to a potential breakthrough in Alzheimer treatment drugs. Just as it does, her life takes a disorienting turn. During a lecture to colleagues at an exclusive beach resort, she glimpses an enigmatic young woman in a yellow bikini amidst the crowd of business suits. One step at a time, a mystery unravels as contradictory evidence, blurred truth and fragmented memories collide in a cottage on the windswept shores of Cape Cod.
The Other Place features set design by Eugene Lee, costume design by David Zinn, lighting design by Justin Townsend and projection design by William Cusick.
