Looks like fans are loving Glee’s New York-based plotline centering on Broadway vet Lea Michele and her roommate, Chris Colfer: The co-stars took home 2013 People’s Choice Awards for Favorite Comedic TV Actress and Actor. The ceremony was held on January 9 at L.A.’s Nokia Theatre.
Dressed in a form-fitting pink Elie Saab mini, Michele accepted her award from Ellen DeGeneres and thanked “all the Gleeks out there,” adding, “I know I speak for my entire cast when I say we would be nowhere without you. You’re amazing.” [Click below to watch Michele’s acceptance speech.]
Presented in categories covering movies, TV and music, the People’s Choice Awards were presented to an array of stars and shows. Not surprisingly, The Hunger Games took home seven awards, including Favorite Movie and three awards for Jennifer Lawrence. More surprising were the two trophies earned by The Perks of Being a Wallflower, for Favorite Dramatic Movie and Favorite Actress (Emma Watson).
In the TV categories, The New Normal, starring Broadway vets Andrew Rannells, Justin Bartha and Ellen Barkin, took home the award for Favorite New TV comedy. The Big Bang Theory, starring Broadway vet Jim Parsons, was voted Favorite Network TV Comedy.
In the music categories, Katy Perry took home four awards, including Favorite Pop Artist.
