Tony Nominee Yul Vazquez to Reunite with Chris Rock & Bobby Cannavale for L.A. Run of The Motherf**ker With the Hat

The old foul-mouthed gang is back together! Tony nominee Yul Vazquez will reunite with his The Motherf**ker With the Hat Broadway castmates for the show’s Los Angeles premiere. As previously announced, Chris Rock, Bobby Cannavale, Elizabeth Rodriguez and Annabella Sciorra have all signed on to reprise their roles in the limited L.A. run of Stephen Adly Guirgis’ Tony-nominated play. Directed by Jace Alexander, The Motherf**ker With the Hat will play six performances at the James Bridges Theatre from January 31 to February 3.

The Motherf**ker With the Hat follows a former drug dealer (Cannavale) who is trying to adjust to life after prison. When he finds a mysterious hat in his girlfriend's (Rodriguez) apartment, he questions her faithfulness and seeks advice from his sponsor (Rock). The Motherf**ker With the Hat originally opened on Broadway on April 11, 2011. The production was nominated for six Tony Awards including Best Play, with Vazquez, Cannavale and Rodriguez earning acting nods as well.

Vazquez is the co-artistic director and member of the LAByrinth Theatre Company, as are Cannavale, Guirgis, Rock and Rodriguez. His theatrical credits include The Last Days of Judas Iscariot and The Stendhal Syndrome. His TV and film credits include Seinfeld, Treme, The Good Wife, Magic City, Louie, Little Fockers, Salvation Boulevard, War of the Worlds and American Gangster.
