Quiara Alegria Hudes’ Pulitzer Prize-winning drama Water By the Spoonful has received a two-week extension at off-Broadway’s Second Stage Theatre. The production, which was originally scheduled to play through January 27, will now conclude its limited engagement on February 10.
Directed by Davis McCallum, Water By the Spoonful tells the story of Elliot, a solider who has just returned from Iraq to connect with his Puerto Rican family. When he arrives, however, he discovers his family’s lives are in turmoil. The play stars Liza Colon-Zayas as Odessa, Frankie R. Faison as Chutes & Ladders, Zabryna Guevara as Yazmin Ortiz, Bill Heck as Fountainhead, Sue Jean Kim as Orangutan, Armando Riesco as Elliot Ortiz and Ryan Shams as Policeman/Professor/Ghost.
Water By the Spoonful's creative team includes set designer Neil Patel, costume designer ESosa, lighting designer Russell Champa and sound designer Joshua Schmidt.
