Jason Alexander and Tovah Feldshuh are set to star in Two By Two, the season opener of the York Theatre Company's Musicals in Mufti series. Directed by Martin Charnin, the musical will play five performances February 15 through 17 at Saint Peter’s. Additional casting will be announced at a later date.
Featuring a book by Peter Stone, lyrics by Charnin and music by Richard Rodgers, Two By Two is based on Clifford Odets' play The Flowering Peach, and tells the story of Noah's preparations for the Great Flood and its aftermath. On his 600th birthday, Noah receives a message from God, warning him about the impending flood. He is directed to save two of each animal and to build an ark for them. Noah's wife and family make fun of him as he starts to build the ark, but join in when the rain begins.
Alexander is a Tony winner for Jerome Robbins' Broadway and has also appeared in Accomplice, Broadway Bound, The Rink and Merrily We Roll Along. He is best known for his nine seasons as George Costanza on TV's Seinfeld.
Feldshuh garnered Tony nominations for Golda’s Balcony, Lend Me a Tenor, Sarava and Yentl. She made her Broadway debut in Cyrano and has also appeared in Irena’s Vow, Rodgers & Hart and Dreyfus in Rehearsal. Her film and TV credits include Law & Order: Criminal Intent, The Good Wife, Ugly Betty and Kissing Jessica Stein.
