Stage and screen stars Judd Hirsch and Tom Cavanagh explore the meaning of life, death, religion and sex in Freud’s Last Session, which imagines a meeting between pionoeer psychoanalyst Sigmund Freud (Hirsch) and writer C.S. Lewis (Cavanagh) on the day England enters World War II. Catch the west coast premiere of Mark St. Germain’s drama through February 10 at Santa Monica’s Broad Stage—doctor’s orders!

What do you get when you cross a Pulitzer Prize-winning classic with an all-star cast? The McCarter Theatre production of Edward Albee’s A Delicate Balance, starring Broadway vets Kathleen Chalfant, John Glover, Penny Fuller and more, beginning January 18. Director Emily Mann helms the tale of two upper-class empty nesters (Chalfant and Glover) whose seemingly peaceful life is shattered when their friends become houseguests.

Kara Lindsay & Andrew Keenan-Bolger Seize the Cobb Galleria
Extra, extra! Newsies stars Kara Lindsay and Andrew Keenan-Bolger will join composer Alan Menken, director Jeff Calhoun and more Broadway guests at the 2013 Junior Theater Festival on January 18, 19 and 20 at Atlanta's Cobb Galleria. The stars will chat with 4,000 students from across the country about what it's like to work on Broadway. Now that’s what we call an inspiring headline!

4000 Miles Heads West
New Yorkers were treated to the premiere of Amy Herzog’s 4000 Miles off-Broadway in 2011—and on January 17, left coasters can see what all the fuss is about. Starring Broadway alum Susan Blommaert as feisty grandma Vera and Leo Joseph-Connell as her grieving grandson, the Mark Rucker-directed production is a moving meditation on growing up and growing old at the American Conservatory Theatre.

Sweeney Todd Gets a Gritty Makeover
Due to popular demand, Off-Strip Productions’ ghoulish retelling of Stephen Sondheim's classic Sweeney Todd has returned for an encore engagement at the Onyx Theater in Las Vegas. Directed by Brandon Burk, the horror musical is intimately staged in a 98-seat theater located in the back of a sex shop. You know what they say…what happens at Sweeney stays at Sweeney.
