It's a challenge to capture the red-hot chemistry between Sebastian Stan and Maggie Grace in Picnic, but leave it to Broadway.com’s sublime sketch artist Justin “Squigs” Robertson to get it oh so right! In this week’s Broadway Ink, Squigs lends his artistic talents to Roundabout Theatre Company's Broadway revival of William Inge’s Pulitzer Prize-winning classic, which stars (from left) Stan, Madeleine Martin, Grace, Ben Rappaport, Mare Winningham, Reed Birney, Elizabeth Marvel and Ellen Burstyn. The summer heat is well represented in Squigs’ homage to the show, which runs through February 24 at the American Airlines Theater!
About the Artist: With a desire to celebrate the magic of live theater and those who create it, and with a deep reverence for such touchstones as the work of Al Hirschfeld and the wall at Sardi’s, Squigs is happy and grateful to be among those carrying on the traditions where theater and caricature meet. He was born and raised in Oregon, lived in Los Angeles for quite a long time and now calls New York City his home. Click to e-mail Squigs. Photo by Matthew Murphy
