It was a blast! Sparks flew when two-time Tony winner Norbert Leo Butz joined David Yazbek for the composer’s monthly jam session at 92YTribeca on January 7. Butz donned the hat he wore (yes, he saved it!) as Freddy Benson in Yazbek's unforgettable 2005 Broadway musical Dirty Rotten Scoundrels and performed three songs with Yazbek and his band, including the showstopping “Dirty Rotten Number” seen below. Check out the composer taking on the role of Lawrence Jameson, originated on Broadway by John Lithgow. Can't get enough of the electric pair? Pick up Butz's new CD, Memory & Mayhem, (and see him next fall on Broadway in Big Fish). Meanwhile, you absolutely must join Yazbek when he welcomes Broadway legend Patti LuPone to the 92YTribeca next month!
