Amazon Studios has tapped Bebe Neuwirth to lead one of the newly formed studio’s first pilots, reports Deadline.
The Emmy winner will star in Browsers, a musical comedy set in Manhattan that chronicles the lives of four twentysomethings who begin their first post-college jobs at a news website. Neuwirth will lead a cast of five 21-year-olds in the single-camera comedy, which will be written by Emmy winner David Javerbaum (lyricist of Broadway's Cry-Baby) and directed by Broadway actor-turned-film director Don Scardino.
Neuwirth is best known to TV audiences for her roles on Cheers and Frasier. Her Broadway credits include A Chorus Line, Dancin’, Little Me, Sweet Charity (Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in a Musical), Damn Yankees, Chicago (Tony Award for Best Actress in a Musical), Fosse and The Addams Family.
