Get a First Look at the Starry Cast of Encores! Season Opener Fiorello!

In 1994, the now-beloved Encores! concert series got its start at New York City Center with a production of the Tony and Pulitzer Prize-winning 1959 musical Fiorello! Kicking off its 20th anniversary season, Encores! is returning to its roots with a starry new staging of Fiorello! featuring Danny Rutigliano in the title role of NYC Mayor LaGuardia. With a book by Jerome Weidman and George Abbott, music by Jerry Bock and lyrics by Sheldon Harnick, Fiorello! explores the life and career of a legendary New Yorker. The stars of the 2013 production joined the show’s lyricist, Sheldon Harnick, on January 23 for a beautiful official portrait, photographed by Joan Marcus.
