Tickets are now on sale for the world premiere production of Lucky Guy, the final play by Nora Ephron and the Broadway debut of Oscar winner Tom Hanks. George C. Wolfe directs the play, which begins previews on March 1 and opens on April 1 at the Broadhurst Theatre.
Hanks will lead a cast that includes Maura Tierney, Christopher McDonald, Peter Scolari, Peter Gerety, Courtney B. Vance and Richard Masur, as well as Paula Jon De Rose, Brian Dykstra, Joe Forbrich, Michael Gaston, Dustyn Gulledge, Tom Hammond, Marc Damon Johnson, Deirdre Lovejoy, Danny Mastrogiorgio and Stephen Tyrone Williams.
Set in New York in the 1980s, Lucky Guy tells the story of tabloid columnist Mike McAlary (Hanks), who investigates the scandal and corruption of the graffiti-ridden city. Tierney will play McAlary’s wife, Alice, alongside Vance as McAlary’s editor Hap Hairston, McDonald as lawyer Eddie Hayes, Gerety as editor John Cotter and Scolari as columnist Michael Daly.
The production features scenic design by David Rockwell, costume design by Toni-Leslie James, sound design by Scott Lehrer, lighting design by Jules Fisher and Peggy Eisenhauer and projection design by Batwin + Robin Productions.
