Claybourne Elder (Bonnie & Clyde), Elizabeth Stanley (Million Dollar Quartet), Natalie Cortez (A Chorus Line) and more have joined the cast of the York Theatre Company’s Two by Two, a revival of the 1970 Broadway musical about the build-up and aftermath of Noah’s Ark.
Previously announced stars Jason Alexander and Tovah Feldshuh will lead the show, which will play five performances from February 15 through 17 at the York’s home at Saint Peter’s. Frank Calamaro, Ruthie Ann Miles (Avenue Q) and Josh Tower (The Lion King) will also appear in the biblical tuner.
Set before, during and after the events of the famous story of Noah and the Ark, Two by Two retells the biblical tale with a modern twist and a score by one of Broadway’s greatest composers, the legendary Richard Rodgers. The show features a book by Peter Stone and lyrics by Martin Charnin, who will direct the limited engagement. Christopher McGovern will serve as musical director.
The show will open the York’s 19th Musicals in Mufti series, which presents new and obscure musicals from the past in simply staged concert formats.
