Hugh Jackman Recalls Why He Showed Up Out-of-Breath & Sweaty for His Les Miz Audition

Oscar nominee Hugh Jackman swung by The Tonight Show with Jay Leno on February 4, after mingling with fellow nominees at the annual pre-Oscar luncheon at the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles. While on Jay's couch Jackman recalled his near-disastrous Les Misérables audition for Jean Valjean. What went wrong? The wheels of Jackman's bicycle were stolen shortly before he was due to sing for director Tom Hooper, and in true Wolverine fashion, the Tony winner had to run to the appointment with his bike thrown over his shoulder. "I get to the thing, I ran up the stairs out of breath say, 'Hey, I'm Hugh Jackman. Jean Valjean. Gravitas. I'm ready let's go,'" he cracked. Things seemed to work out just fine though...good luck at the Oscars, Hugh!
