Queer Eye for the Straight Guy’s Carson Kressley begins performances in off-Broadway spoof NEWSical the Musical on February 6. The TV personality joins the cast for a four-week engagement, concluding on March 3.
NEWSical the Musical is an ever-evolving, sketch comedy-style romp that pokes fun at the latest headlines, from Obama to Honey Boo Boo Child. Songs and material are updated on a regular basis, which keeps this hilarious musical mockery unfailingly topical.
Kressley burst out onto the pop culture scene as the Fab Five’s resident fashion guru on the Emmy Award-winning Queer Eye, and went on to host TV shows How to Look Good Naked, Carson Nation and True Beauty. He has also appeared on Dancing with the Stars and Big Brother Australia.
Created by Rick Crom and directed by Mark Waldrop, NEWSical also features Christine Pedi, Susan Mosher, Michael West and Tommy Walker. The musical parody continues to run at Theatre Row’s Kirk Theatre.
