Tony Award nominee Charles Busch’s musical mystery Bunnicula begins its off-Broadway run at the DR2 Theatre on February 9. The show will play a limited ten-week engagement through April 14.
Carl Andress directs the adaptation of the popular children’s book series by Deborah and James Howe, which follows the members of the Monroe family who bring home an orphaned rabbit with mysterious habits and sharp fangs. Is it a bunny… or a vampire? It’s neither: it’s Bunnicula!
Bunnicula stars Abe Goldfarb as Mr. Monroe, Erin Maguire as Mrs. Monroe, Ashley Campana as Debbie, John Garry as Toby, Prescott Seymour as Chester and Robert Anthony Jones as Harold. The production features music by Sam Davis, lyrics by Mark Waldrop, choreography by Connor Gallagher, scenic design by Rob Odorisio, costume design by Gregory Gale, orchestrations by Greg Pliska and musical direction by James Cunningham.
Catch this colorful children’s show, which is a featured production in the DR2 Kids Theatre’s “Rabbit Season” program (the company previously produced The Velveteen Rabbit last year). Hop to it!
