Hang on to your Hats! Bill Irwin and David Shiner’s comedy two-hander Old Hats begins performances February 12 at off-Broadway’s Irene Diamond Stage. Directed by Tina Landau and created by Irwin and Shiner, Old Hats opens officially on March 4 at the Pershing Square Signature Center. The production will play a limited engagement through April 7.
In Old Hats, clowning duo Irwin and Shiner reunite for a brand new work combining their slapstick and unparalleled magic. Featuring onstage music by Nellie McKay, technology and movement, Irwin and Shiner create a wild and remarkable world for a new generation of audiences. Old Hats is the first collaboration between Shiner and Irwin since Broadway’s Fool Moon, which they performed in 1993, 1995 and 1998.
The production includes scenic and costume design by G.W. Mercier, lighting design by Peter Kaczorowski, sound design by John Gromada, projection design by Wendall K. Harrington and original music by McKay.
