Cheyenne Jackson to Co-Star with Jeffrey Tambor in The Onion Pilot

Cheyenne Jackson has been tapped to co-star with Arrested Development’s Jeffrey Tambor in Amazon Studios’ new comedy pilot The Onion Presents: The News, reports Deadline.com.

The project is set behind the scenes at the Onion News Network, the fictional news agency behind the popular spoof journalism site The Onion. Jackson will play Cameron, described as a rising news anchor whose career threatens a veteran anchor (played by Tambor). The “fast-paced, scripted comedy” pilot comes from The Onion writers Will Graham and Dan Mirk. No word on whether any company members from IFC's The Onion News Network will be involved in the new series.

Jackson most recently appeared in the short-lived Broadway comedy The Performers. His screen career in recent years has included high-profile guest stints on 30 Rock and Mockingbird Lane. He’ll also appear in the upcoming films Price Check and the Liberace biopic Behind the Candelabra.
