Let’s play detective! Emmy winner Jane Lynch (TV’s Glee, off-Broadway’s Love, Loss and What I Wore) is getting ready to make her Broadway debut this summer, and we suspect she’ll be Annie's new Miss Hannigan. Hear us out.
“I hope to be coming to New York to do a musical this summer,” Lynch told WENN. “I have not inked the deal, but I'm teasing it. It's already in production and I'll be stepping in. I'm really thrilled. I think its gonna be fun.”
So our clues are: 1. A musical already running on Broadway and 2. A show that will need a Jane Lynch-type beginning this summer. Well, Annie headliner Katie Finneran is already confirmed to co-star in Michael J. Fox's new NBC series beginning this fall. Finneran will surely have to depart the beloved musical over the summer to start shooting. Could this mean that Sue Sylvester herself will step in as Annie’s reigning queen of mean? Her Glee mom Carol Burnett even played Miss Hannigan in the 1982 Annie movie!
A spokesperson for the musical told Broadway.com they had "no comment" about the possible casting, so stay tuned for furthur developments.
