Signature Theatre Company’s revival of The Dance and the Railroad has extended its off-Broadway run through March 24. The two-hander drama was originally scheduled to conclude on March 17, but will play an extra week in the Alice Griffin Jewel Box Theatre at the Pershing Square Signature Center. Currently in previews, the show is set to officially open on February 25.
In David Henry Hwang's play, Ruy Iskandar stars as Ma and Yuekun Wu as Lone, two Chinese workers laboring around the Transcontinental Railroad in 1867. The pair struggles with poverty, hunger and trying to connect to the traditions of their homeland.
The Dance and the Railroad features set design by Mimi Lien, costume design by Jennifer Moeller, lighting design by Jiyoun Chang, sound design by Broken Chord Collective and music by Huang Ruo. May Adrales directs.
