Surprising absolutely nobody (except perhaps herself), Anne Hathaway is now the owner of a shiny Oscar for her performance as Fantine in the hit Les Misérables movie. The actress took home the Best Supporting Actress trophy at the February 24 ceremony, hosted by Seth MacFarlane.
With awards season now all wrapped up, Hathaway has collected quite the collection of accolades for her performance as the doomed factory worker-turned-toothless prostitute. She won a Golden Globe, BAFTA Award, Screen Actors Guild Award, Broadcast Film Critics Association Award, Chicago Film Crtics Association Award and Washington D.C. Area Film Critics Association Award. Here's hoping Hathaway has a hefty mantle to clear for all those statues. In addition to Hathaway's win, Les Miz also picked up awards for Sound Mixing (Andy Nelson, Mark Paterson and Simon Hayes) and Makeup and Hairstyling (Lisa Westcott and Julie Dartnell).
Hathaway already has her first post-Oscar project planned. She'll play an archaeologist opposite British musician Johnny Flynn in Song One, another role that will find the actress singing. Hathaway had also planned to kick some robot ass alongside Thor (Chris Hemsworth) in the Steven Speilberg-helmed action flick Robopocalypse, but shooting was recently delayed due to budget issues. That could clear the way for Hathaway to lead one of the many stage or screen updates of My Fair Lady that have circled the actress lately.
Alright... one last time... check out Hathaway's dark and dreary, gut-wrenching, now Oscar-winning delivery of "I Dreamed a Dream" below!
