Old Hats stars Bill Irwin and David Shiner are sticking around a little bit longer! The clowning duo’s newest show has received a second off-Broadway extension through April 14 at off-Broadway’s Irene Diamond Stage. Directed by Tina Landau and featuring singer-songwriter Nellie McKay, the production, which was originally set to close on March 31, opens at the Pershing Square Signature Center on March 4.
Irwin and Shiner reunite in this new work combining their unparalleled magic and slapstick. Featuring music by McKay, as well as technology and movement, the duo create a wild and remarkable world for a new generation of audiences. Old Hats is the first collaboration for Irwin and Shiner since they starred together in Broadway’s Fool Moon in 1993, 1995 and 1998.
The Old Hats creative team includes scenic and costume design by G.W. Mercier, lighting design by Peter Kaczorowski, sound design by John Gromada and projection design by Wendall K. Harrington.
