Hamish Linklater has landed the sitcom role of a lifetime in CBS’ new comedy pilot Crazy Ones, opposite Robin Williams and Sarah Michelle Gellar.
Deadline reports that Linklater will play an art director working at an ad agency under the brilliant mind of Simon (Williams), whose daughter Sydney (Gellar) serves as the company’s creative director. The show is written and exec produced by David E. Kelley and directed by Jason Winer (Modern Family).
Linklater’s most recent TV credits include The New Adventures of Old Christine, as well as arcs on The Good Wife and The Big C. As a theatrical actor, he was last seen on Broadway in Seminar. As a playwright he penned the off-Broadway drama The Vandal, which recently extended through March 3 at the Flea Theatre.
Linklater will also star as Antipholus in the Public Theater’s upcoming production of The Comedy of Errors in this season’s Shakespeare in the Park program.
