Nice Work If You Can Get It star Kelli O’Hara and Broadway and film favorite Victor Garber have signed on to co-host the spring benefit gala for Our Time, a nonprofit organization offering arts programs and summer camp for children who stutter. Country singer Mel Tillis will be honored at the event, which will be held on April 22 at the Skirball Center for the Performing Arts.
The benefit will include a dinner, auction and performances by stars including Christian Borle, Bobby Cannavale, Michael Cerveris, Rachel Dratch, Gina Gershon, Jeremy Jordan, Richard Kind, Jesse L. Martin, John Oliver, Anthony Rapp, Ron Rifkin, Daphne Rubin-Vega, Amy Ryan, David Strathairn and the kids of Our Time.
Founded by Taro Alexander, an actor who stutters, Our Time aims to improve the confidence and communication skills of children with this common speech disorder through performing arts, speech therapy and summer camp. Our Time kids in the New York City area write plays that are given staged readings featuring some of the city's best stage actors.
