There’s one word that’s indisputably synonymous with NBC’s soapy musical Smash: drama. This week's episode was chock full of it, so we asked readers (and anyone who is still watching Smash) to name their pick for the show’s grumpiest drama queen. The results are in, and were overwhelmingly in favor of the newest cast member, Jeremy Jordan, with 33% of votes. His character Jimmy is a hot mess of attitude and non-sobriety, and the troubled composer seems to have a problem with everyone and everything.
What could have caused Jimmy to be such a jerk? Maybe he learned from Julia (played by Debra Messing), who scored 23% of the votes for her overstressed, strung out, this-close-to-another-nervous-breakdown hysterics. Or he got the complaining cue from Derek (Jack Davenport), who scored 14% for his stubborn douchebaggery.
We still love the characters though, whether they’re a-singin’, a-composin’ or a-complainin’. We’ll gladly indulge Jimmy, Julia and Derek in their high-strung escapades because hey, they just can’t be worse than Ellis.
