The Mound Builders will keep on digging! The Signature Theatre Company has extended its revival of Lanford Wilson’s archaeological drama before opening off-Broadway. The production, originally scheduled to play through April 7, will now run through April 14 at the Pershing Square Signature Center. Opening night is scheduled for March 17.
Directed by Jo Bonney, The Mound Builders tells the story of an archaeological team who travel to an Illinois town to unearth the mysteries of the Mound Builders. As they excavate the remains of the Native American civilization, they grapple with the powerful and dangerous forces of ambition and legacy. The Mound Builders originally opened off-Broadway in 1975 at Circle in the Square Downtown.
The Mound Builders stars Zachary Booth as Dr. Dan Loggins, David Conrad as Professor August Howe, Janie Brookshire as Cynthia Howe, Lisa Joyce as Dr. Jean Loggins, Rachel Resheff as Kirsten, Will Rogers as Chad Jasker and Danielle Skraastad as D.K. Eriksen.
The Mound Builders includes scenic design by Neil Patel, costume design by Theresa Squire, lighting design by Rui Rita, sound design by Darron L. West and projection design by Shawn Sagady.
