Before she returns to Broadway in The Trip to Bountiful, Condola Rashad will head downtown for her very own solo show at Joe’s Pub. The Tony nominee will take the stage at the concert venue on March 12.
A classically trained pianist, this talented young performer recently released her debut album, The Letter 9. Since then, she has played concerts showcasing her original songs and recently formed a band. Rashad made her Broadway debut as Cheryl in Stick Fly, a role that earned her a Tony nomination. She joins a starry cast in The Trip to Bountiful including Cicely Tyson, Cuba Gooding Jr. and Vanessa Williams. The play begins performances March 30 at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre, with opening night set for April 23. In addition to her stage work, Rashad's film credits include Sex and the City 2 and the 2012 remake of Steel Magnolias.
Joining Rashad in this month’s roster of performers at Joe’s Pub are Tony winner Tonya Pinkins, Justin Vivan Bond, Joy Arias, Barb Jungr, Erin Markey, Brown Girls Burlesque, Bridget Everett, Lady Rizo, Jomama Jones, and Paul Oakley Stovall.
