C.J. Wilson will take over the role of Hank Teagle from Adam Rapp in the upcoming Broadway revival of The Big Knife. Rapp has departed the production due to scheduling conflicts. Starring Bobby Cannavale and directed by Doug Hughes, the Clifford Odets play begins its run at the American Airlines Theatre on March 22. Opening night is scheduled for April 16.
Set during the golden age of Hollywood, The Big Knife stars Cannavale as star Charlie Castle, a movie star whose studio has been forced to cover up a mistake that could have ended his career. When a woman with insider knowledge threatens to come forward, the studio heads will stop at nothing to protect Charlie's secret. Charlie must decide to what lengths he's willing to go to before just quitting the business for good.
Wilson's Broadway credits include Glengarry Glen Ross, A Steady Rain, Festen, Henry IV, Long Day's Journey into Night and The Best Man. He has appeared off-Broadway in Medieval Play, The Lady from Dubuque, All-American and Happy Now?
