That's Officer Lynch to you! Glee and upcoming Annie star Jane Lynch has signed on to lead FOX's new animated series Murder Police, according to EW.com. Lynch will star as a detective and working mom named Justice alongside Wilmer Valderrama (That 70's Show) as an undercover officer named Donel. The series will begin its run next season.
Created by David A. Goodman (Family Guy) and Jason Ruiz, Murder Police follows a neurotic detective (voiced by Ruiz) and his incompetent precinct colleagues.The network has ordered 13 episodes of the series, which will also include the vocal talents of Will Sasso, Chi McBride, Horatio Sanz, Peter Atencio and Justina Machado.
Murder Police marks the latest new series for Lynch, who is also set to host Sean Hayes' new celebrity-driven game show Ultimate Game Night. Lynch will make her Broadway debut as Annie's menacing orphanage owner Miss Hanning on May 16 at the Palace Theatre. She will play a limited run through July 14. Lynch earned an Emmy for her current turn as Sue Sylvester on Glee. Her many other film and TV credits include A Mighty Wind, The 40-Year-Old Virgin, Role Models, Wreck It Ralph, Party Down, The L Word and Arrested Development.
