Tony Winner Jeffrey Wright Joins HBO’s Boardwalk Empire as Series Regular

Angels in America Tony winner Jeffrey Wright has signed on to HBO’s gritty crime drama Boardwalk Empire as a series regular, reports Deadline.com.

Wright will appear on the show’s upcoming fourth season as Valentin Narcisse, a philanthropist and doctor of divinity who essentially controls Harlem. The season premiere will debut later this year.

Wright earned a Tony and later an Emmy and Golden Globe Award for Angels In America. He also appeared on Broadway in Bring in ‘Da Noise, Bring in ‘Da Funk, Topdog/Underdog (Tony nomination) and A Free Man of Color. Wright will also be featured in the upcoming The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, as well as Only Lovers Left Alive and The Inevitable Defeat of Mister and Pete.
