What Clive Davis wants, Clive Davis gets. Tony-winning director Bartlett Sher is now confirmed to helm the producer's upcoming Broadway revival of My Fair Lady, according to Showbiz411. Now let's see if Davis can convince his top choices Anne Hathaway and Colin Firth to star in the show!
On March 7, Davis appeared at the 92nd Street Y to discuss his juicy new autobiography The Soundtrack of My Life, and during the Q&A session the now New York Times best-selling author and music mogul confirmed Sher will direct My Fair Lady. Davis also stated he is still pursuing Firth and Hathaway. No timeline for the revival or other creative team members have been announced.
Sher’s Broadway credits include Golden Boy, South Pacific, Awake and Sing!, The Light in the Piazza, Joe Turner’s Come and Gone and Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown. A few seasons back, Sher was linked to helm the first-ever Broadway revival of Funny Girl, but the production was canceled. He is also set to direct the upcoming world premiere of The Bridges of Madison County at Williamstown.
