Trey Anastasio is making his Broadway composing debut with the score of the new musical Hands on a Hardbody, which opens at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre on March 21. Anastasio, who's also the frontman of the rock band Phish, stopped by CBS' Sunday Morning on March 10 to discuss the daunting experience of writing a big Broadway musical score. "I did not know the amount of work it was going to take," he noted. "I didn't know it was going to take four years." Anastasio also discussed his collaboration with lyricist, Broadway vet Amanda Green, and why music has always been a "refuge" for him. He also chatted about his "very dark" days after his drug and alcohol abuse finally caught up with him and what it took to clean up his act. Click below to watch Anastasio's full interview.
