Tickets are now on sale for the New York premiere of Cirque du Soleil’s Totem. Written and directed by Robert Lepage, the company’s latest production beings performances March 14 at Citi Field.
A spectacle performed with Cirque du Soleil’s signature blend of visual and acrobatic language, Totem traces the evolutionary progress of the human species all the way from its original amphibian state to its ultimate desire to fly. Inspired by many founding myths, the characters evolve on a stage evoking a giant turtle, the symbol of origin for many ancient civilizations. Totem explores the ties that bind mankind to other species, our dreams and infinite potential.
