Tickets are now available for the off-Broadway play Southern Discomfort, written by and starring Elisabeth Gray. The comedy is directed by Daniel Zimbler and is set to begin previews at the Soho Playhouse on March 25.
Based on Gray’s real experiences growing up in the south, the play takes a comedic look at loneliness and the extremes which people will go to in order to overcome it. The eclectic production explores a vast collection of idiosyncratic characters including a one-armed teenage boy selling Civil War re-enactment weaponry, a former beauty queen obsessed with facial symmetry and a distraught tow truck driver in love with an African-American-Mormon stripper.
The limited engagement is set to close May 27, so be sure to get tickets while you can!
