Well, it’s finally happened: Composers have run out of books and movies to adapt into musicals, and they’re moving on to reality TV shows. This week, we found out that Anna Nicole, an opera based on the life of late reality star Anna Nicole Smith, will make its U.S. debut at the BAM Next Wave Festival, and The X Factor—It's Time to Face the Music, a new musical that features infamous judge Simon Cowell as a character, will premiere at the London Palladium next spring. We love original musicals, but wouldn’t it be crazy to see Dance Moms live on stage? Or an all-singing, all-dancing stage version of Survivor?
