Carla Gugino to Lead ABC Legal Drama Pilot Doubt

Broadway vet Carla Gugino will lead ABC’s new legal drama Doubt, according to Deadline.com. The pilot, created by House’s David Shore, will co-star Steve Coogan (Tropic Thunder) as Gugino’s ex-husband.

Doubt follows Vincent (Coogan) a cop-turned-low-level-lawyer who crusades for his clients while battling his inner demons and working to win back his ex-wife Linda (Gugino), a straight-shooting ADA. The pilot will also co-star Mad About You and Episodes actor John Pankow.

Gugino most recently starred in the Broadway mounting of The Road to Mecca at the American Airlines Theatre. She has also appeared on Broadway in Desire Under the Elms and After the Fall. Gugino's film and TV credits include Political Animals, The New Girl, Entourage, Californication, Karen Sisco, Chicago Hope, Spin City and Justified.
