Oscar winner Tom Hanks makes his Broadway debut as Nora Ephron’s Lucky Guy officially opens on April 1. The scandalous, New York-set play began preview performances on March 1 at the Broadhurst Theatre.
In addition to Hanks, the cast includes Peter Scolari, Christopher McDonald, Peter Gerety, Maura Tierney, Courtney B. Vance, Brian Dykstra, Michael Gaston, Dustyn Gulledge, Danny Mastrogiorgio and Stephen Tyrone Williams.
In Lucky Guy, Hanks stars as Mike McAlary, a New York tabloid columnist in the 1980s, who investigates the scandal and corruption of the graffiti-ridden city.
George C. Wolfe directs the production, which features set design by David Rockwell, costume design by Toni-Leslie James, lighting design by Julie Fisher and Peggy Eisenhauer and sound design by Scott Lehrer.
