Rafe Spall (Life of Pi, Constellations) will make a cuckold of 007 on Broadway. Spall is in final negations to co-star with real-life couple Daniel Craig and Rachel Weisz in the Broadway production of Harold Pinter’s Betrayal, according to The Daily Mail. Directed by 10-time Tony winner Mike Nichols, the show will open at the Barrymore Theatre in October for a limited 14-week-engagement.
Betrayal uses reverse chronology to tell the story of Robert (Craig), whose wife, Emma (Weisz), is having an affair with his friend Jerry (Spall), a literary agent. Kristin Scott Thomas, Douglas Henshall and Ben Miles will lead a West End production of the show in May.
Spall most recently starred in the acclaimed London production of Nick Payne’s Constellations. His other stage credits include If There Is I Haven’t Found It Yet, Hello and Goodbye, Alaska, Just a Bloke, John Gabriel Borkman and A Prayer For Owen Meany. His screen credits include Life of Pi, Prometheus, One Day, Grindhouse and TV’s Pete Versus Life.
