Tickets are now on sale for the off-Broadway play Reasons to Be Happy starring The Office alum Jenna Fischer in her stage debut. The drama, written and directed by Neil LaBute, is set to start performances at the Lucille Lortel Theatre on May 16 with an official opening on June 11. The show will play a limited engagement through June 23.
The sequel to LaBute's Tony-nominated Reasons to Be Pretty, the play centers around Steph (Fischer) and Greg (Josh Hamilton), who are wondering if they can make a fresh go of it three years after their contentious break-up. Trouble is, she’s married to someone else and he’s just embarked on a relationship with Steph’s best friend, a single mom whose jealous ex-husband has trouble articulating his feelings. Navigating the rocky landscape of conflicting agendas and exploding emotions isn’t going to be easy for any of them.
Reasons to Be Happy also stars Leslie Bibb and Fred Weller and features scenic design by Neil Patel, costume design by Sarah Holden, lighting design by Ben Stanton and sound design by Robert Kaplowitz.
