Bette Midler takes her Broadway bow on April 24 as John Logan’s I’ll Eat You Last: A Chat with Sue Mengers officially opens at the Booth Theatre. Directed by Tony winner Joe Mantello, this one-woman show plays a limited engagement through June 30.
I’ll Eat You Last focuses on the life of famed Hollywood “super-agent” Sue Mengers, who launched a successful career at a time when women talent agents were unheard of. A victim of poverty and a refugee from Hitler’s Germany, Mengers worked her way up thanks to her signature pluck, charm and wit. By the 1970s she represented Hollywood’s brightest stars and went on to become the town's most renowned hostess.
The production features set design by Scott Pask, costume design by Ann Roth, lighting design by Hugh Vanstone and sound design by Fitz Patton.
