Stage favorites Matthew Morrison, Jeremy Jordan and Stephanie J. Block have joined the starry list of presenters at the 2013 Broadway.com Audience Choice Awards. Hosted by daytime star Wendy Williams, the awards will be held on May 5 at The Allen Room in Jazz at Lincoln Center’s Frederick P. Rose Hall, Time Warner Center, New York City. The trio will join previously announced presenters Aaron Tveit and Sierra Boggess, with more to be announced shortly.
Morrison earned an Emmy nomination for playing Mr. Schuester on the hit TV series Glee. He is set to release his second solo album Where It All Began, a collection of Broadway standards, on June 4. He receieved a Tony nomination for The Light in the Piazza and also appeared on Broadway in South Pacific, Hairspray, A Naked Girl on the Appalachian Way, Footloose and The Rocky Horror Show.
Jordan picked up two Audience Choice Awards in 2012 for his charasmatic turn as Newsies' Jack Kelly. He currently appears on the Broadway-centric TV series Smash. Jordan also earned a Tony nomination for Newsies and previously starred in Bonnie & Clyde, West Side Story and Rock of Ages.
Block is nominated for two 2012 Broadway.com Audience Choice Awards for her gender-bending turn in The Mystery of Edwin Drood. Her other Broadway credits include Anything Goes, 9 to 5, The Pirate Queen, Wicked and The Boy From Oz.
Nominations for the 2013 Broadway.com Audience Choice Awards were announced last week, with Kinky Boots and Matilda topping the list with the most nods. This year, fans can vote through May 2 for a slew of Broadway stars, including breakout newcomers and renowned veterans like Patti LuPone, Norbert Leo Butz, Nathan Lane and Scarlett Johansson. All voting results are audited by Ernst & Young.
