Emmy and Tony nominee Matthew Morrison will perform a new solo show at 54 Below. Up Close and Personal with Matthew Morrison will play the nightclub June 2 and 4.
Morrison was recently announced as one of the star presenters at the 2013 Broadway.com Audience Choice Awards. The 54 Below concerts correlate with the June 4 release date of Morrison’s second studio album Where It All Began, which fans can pre-order now through Amazon.com.
The debut release off Adam Levine's new label, Where It All Began will feature 12 musical theater tracks including “Singin’ in the Rain,” “On The Street Where You Live,” “Ease on Down the Road,” “Younger Than Springtime” and “Luck Be a Lady.” In coordination with the album release, PBS will air a concert special featuring Morrison called Where It All Began—Live From the Bushnell on June 1.
Morrison received a Tony nomination for originating the role of Fabrizio in The Light at the Piazza. He also appeared in the Broadway productions of South Pacific, Hairspray, A Naked Girl on the Appian Way, Footloose and The Rocky Horror Show. Since leaving the Great White Way, Morrison has starred on the FOX hit Glee as the team’s coach Will Schuester (Emmy nomination) and released a self-titled solo album in May 2011.
