Additional casting has been announced for the 2013 season at Williamstown Theatre Festival, with Broadway favorites like Adam Chanler-Berat, James Cromwell, Ari Graynor and more joining the casts of several productions at this summer's festival. Notable among the news is the casting of Elena Shaddow opposite Steven Pasquale in the world premiere musical The Bridges of Madison County; Shaddow replaces originally attached star Kelli O'Hara, who is expecting her second child this summer.
Joining Shaddow and Pasquale in Madison County will be Nick Bailey (Hit The Wall), Cass Morgan (Memphis), Whitney Bashor (Fly By Night) and Caitlin Kinnunen (Spring Awakening). Madison County runs on the Main Stage at WTF from August 1 through August 18.
From June 26 through July 14, the Main Stage production of Animal Crackers will star Jonathan Brody (Naked Boys Singing), Adam Chanler-Berat (Peter and the Starcatcher), Mara Davi (Death Takes a Holiday), Renee Elise Goldsberry (Good People), Ellen Harvey (The Phantom of the Opera) and Jacob Ming-Trent (Hands on a Hardbody).
The Performers alum Ari Graynor makes her WTF debut in the world premiere of Bess Wohl’s American Hero, running from June 26 through July 7 on the Nikos Stage. She willll join Erin Wilhelmi (The Perks of Being a Wallflower) and Josh Stamberg.
The Nikos Stage production of Tom Stoppard’s Hapgood—starring Kate Burton—will also feature James Cromwell (Babe), Jason Butler Harner (The Coast of Utopia), Jake Weber (A Small Family Business) and Victor Williams (Luck of the Irish). The show plays from July 10 through July 21.
Heather Lind (Broadway’s The Merchant of Venice) will step into the role of Eliza Doolittle opposite Robert Sean Leonard’s Henry Higgins in Pygmalion, which runs from July 17 through July 27. Also joining the cast are Patricia Conolly (Is He Dead?), Don Lee Sparks (Take Me Out) and Paxton Whitehead (The Importance of Being Earnest). Nicholas Martin directs the Main Stage production.
The new musical Johnny Baseball—running on the Nikos Stage from July 24 through August 3—will feature James Snyder (Cry-Baby), Burke Moses (Beauty and the Beast), Joe Cassidy (Catch Me If You Can), Alan Green (Sister Act) and Roger Robinson (Joe Turner’s Come and Gone).
Finally, the off-Broadway company of Blood Play will reunite for the WTF premiere of the play on the Nikos Stage from August 7 through August 18. The cast includes Paul Thureen, Michael Cyril Creighton, Hannah Bos, Hanlon Smith-Dorsey, Birgit Huppuch and Emma Galvin.
