Bette Midler is charming Broadway audiences as the legendary Hollywood agent Sue Mengers in John Logan’s new solo play I’ll Eat You Last. The role marks Midler’s first return to the Great White Way in more than 30 years, and boy is Broadway happy to have her back! The Divine Miss M won a 2013 Broadway.com Audience Choice Award for her performance and racked up additional nominations for Drama Desk, Outer Critics and Drama League Awards. Broadway.com resident artist Justin “Squigs” Robertson headed to the Booth Theatre to see the show everyone is buzzing about. Check out the portrait above, and don’t miss Midler as Mengers on the Main Stem, now through June 30.
About the Artist: With a desire to celebrate the magic of live theater and those who create it, and with a deep reverence for such touchstones as the work of Al Hirschfeld and the wall at Sardi’s, Squigs is happy and grateful to be among those carrying on the traditions where theater and caricature meet. He was born and raised in Oregon, lived in Los Angeles for quite a long time and now calls New York City his home.
