Sierra Boggess lit up the stage as Christine Daae in the 25th anniversary celebration of The Phantom of the Opera this winter, and on May 5, her thrilling performance was recognized at the Broadway.com Audience Choice Awards. Boggess took home the award for Favorite Replacement, and the actress was positively “freaking out” about her big win.
“This feels amazing,” Boggess told Broadway.com after taking the stage to accept her trophy. “I wasn’t expecting this. This means so much to me because it’s like our own Tony moment—replacements don’t get nominated for Tonys, so it really means a lot.”
Boggess won her first BACA in 2008, for Favorite Breakthrough Performance in The Little Mermaid. At the 2013 ceremony at the Allen Room in the Time Warner Center, Boggess also presented awards alongside two-time BACA winner Jeremy Jordan. Congratulations, Sierra!
