Lucky Guy Star Tom Hanks Fights Pirates in New Movie Trailer for Captain Phillips

Have you heard? Tom Hanks is in a movie! The latest feature film from the newly-named Tony nominee and recent Broadway debut is Captain Phillips, a dramatic thriller set aboard the cargo ship MV Maersk Alabama which was famously hijacked by Somali pirates in 2009—the first American ship to be pirated in 200 years. Hanks stars as the titular seafaring skipper, and if the first trailer for the movie (due in theaters October 11, 2013) is any indication, we can expect yet another powerful performance from Hanks that may be remembered come Oscar season.
