Neil Patrick Harris is coming back to Broadway! Well, kind of. The How I Met Your Mother star and former prepubescent physician is once again hosting the Tony Awards, which means he’s near Broadway, but we decided to take our love for NPH one step further. Last week we asked readers to elect one role for Harris to slip into in one of Broadway’s currently running shows. There are so many parts that are perfect for the multi-talented Harris, but which did they pick?
1. Elder Price in The Book of Mormon — 33%
The clear winner is the all-American alpha Mormon made famous by Andrew Rannells. As Elder Price, Harris would flex some serious charm and comedy skills, not to mention a couple kick-ass high notes and a very slimming pair of temple garments.
2. Billy Flynn in Chicago — 10%
Dozens of celebs have already stepped into the role of Chicago’s dubious d-bag lawyer, but Harris would surely bring some razzle—WAIT FOR IT—dazzle to the audacious attorney. Plus, we already know he can clearly rock a suit…and sing about it, too.
3. Rooster in Annie — 9%
Harris earned an Emmy for his guest stint on Glee so the actor would be in great company over at the Palace Theatre if he joined Annie as the devious Rooster. Glee star Jane Lynch begins her run in the musical as Rooster's sis Miss Hannigan next week.
